Hello. I’m Kuba Okon. I’m a Polish wedding photographer based in Costa Rica (for most of the year). I specialize in destination weddings with a focus on Central America, but I’m available to travel worldwide. My style stems from experience as an award-winning painter, the knowledge I obtained while receiving my Master of Fine Arts degree, as well as multinational practice working professionally as a photographer for the last decade.
For me, it is all about making something beautiful. I try to capture things in a candid, artistic and natural way. I am known to photograph in an unobtrusive manner. I try not to influence situations too much, giving a bit of direction if needed, but mostly letting the day happen, as it should. Ultimately, my goal is to craft fine art images that will be cherished for the lifetime.
"My husband and I can't say enough about Kuba's work. His seemed to effortlessly capture the essence of our day, working behind the scenes without missing a thing. He was a pleasure to work with his work even inspired us to put together a beautiful album for our post elopement party. He exceeded our expectations."
"Not only is Kuba a very talented photographer, but he is an extremely pleasant individual. The photographs he took of our wedding capture the true essence, beauty, and happiness of that day. His photographs speak for themselves, they are stunning."
"Thank you so much for being part of our day. You were consummate professional: kind, laid back, meticulous, organized, patient, and encouraging."
• Where do you work?
I'm based in Costa Rica and I focus on Central America: Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Mexico are where I mostly shoot. Also, I spend a couple of months a year taking photos in Europe. Please reach out to check if I'm available on your date.
• Do you offer wedding packages?
Of course. My most popular packages are between 3 to 8 hours. I also offer options for elopements and engagements. For complete pricing information, please fill out the form on my Contact page or contact me directly at email@example.com
• How do we book the date?
First, contact me and let me know that you’re interested. I'd love to hear your story and connect. If I am available on the requested date, I will send you everything you need to know, including information about pricing and packages. The next step is to simply confirm that you would like to book and to specify exactly which services you want. I will email the contract. Just sign and return, pay the 35% retainer (for weddings) and your date is confirmed!. The retainer can be sent via Paypal, cash, bank deposit, or money transfer.
• Do you do both weddings and elopements?
Yes. I cover larger, traditional weddings as well as smaller, more intimate elopements. Elopements can strip away the stress of planning a larger wedding and let you concentrate on what matters most, your love. Also, an elopement should have a guest count of no more than 10 individuals.
• Can I print the images?
Yes! I give you personal printing rights for the photographs.
• Do you edit all of the images?
Yes! After precise selection from all the images, I choose the best ones. Then I edit each photo individually. Mostly for color and exposure.
• Do you work with a second photographer?
I shoot weddings by my self and with a second shooter (depending on the type of wedding package you and your fiancé choose). I also use the help of my assistant. I usually recommend using a second shooter for weddings above 150 guests.
• Can we meet up?
Of course. I think it is very important to get to know each other. It helps to create trust before that special day. If you are busy or live far away we can always arrange a Skype/Facetime call.
• How did you became photographer?
Well, I was interested in art since I remember. I always had a passion for sketching and painting. I have even graduated with a Master of Fine Arts. Love for photography came naturally.
• How many images do you deliver?
For weddings, I generally deliver around 75-100 images per hour.
• When do we receive our photos?
Post-production typically takes between 4-6 weeks.
• What is the best way to describe your style?
I' am very unobtrusive when photographing and I like to observe from a certain distance. I try not to influence situations too much if possible. I will give a bit of direction if needed but mostly letting the day happen, as it should. At the same time, I am very close to the action. The result is a style that documents events in a candid, artistic and natural way.
